Babies Overflowing

The babies now fill the nest to overflowing. And here's a peek at them from the side of the nest without the mirror - so you can see their little heads and beaks popping up over the top.

Anybody remember the chubby puppy in 101 Dalmations. "I'm hungry, Mother, I'm hungry!"

I love your hummingbird pictures! I can't believe how big (relatively) their beaks are already!

So cool!

I know when we have phoebe nests on our porch, they sit on the eggs for 10 days, and the babies are in the nest for just 10 days.

Enjoy your hummingbirds while they're there!!!

And thanks for letting us see them!

I think that's about what to expect with these, too, Sue. It's been 10 days since we first saw the babies, and pretty soon the two of them won't fit in the nest anymore, so I expect them to fledge pretty soon.

Just as with our kids, it's a happy/sad thing. :-)

Only 10 days! how quickly they've grown. Seems a bit sad that they won't be there much longer for us to admire and wonder at. They have made my day on more than one occasion. We still have a couple of feet of snow on our lawn, but today I saw a finch with nesting material in his/her beak - there is hope!
